Introduction:

SIF is currently seeking a Project Manager with Emergency Response expertise for the management of conditional “Food for Assets Cash Based” project in Chitral, KP. The Project Manager will support SIF in the implementation of conditional Assistance funded by WFP. The project is foreseen to provide immediate Cash assistance for the affected communities of Chitral Upper.

General Objective:

The Project Manager is responsible for developing and implementing the Cash Assistance program’s strategy and approach according to shared objectives of SIF and WFP and time frame in all of its components and in coordination with logistic, HR, Finance, Security and administration departments. The Project Manager is also responsible for training and capacity building of staff.

Essential Functions:

  • Project Coordination and implementation: In collaboration and according to the objectives fixed with and by the Program Manager and Field Coordinator-KP, He/She will:
  • Develop strategies/methods and implement the activities related to the FFA project in accordance with the donor specifications, timeframe and budget allocated.
  • Conducting regular monitoring Field visits of SIF targeted Project areas.
  • Provide orientations on project as per proposals to staff members internally and externally as and when needed.
  • Ensure effectiveness of project activities on weekly/ monthly basis and submit weekly/ monthly, Progress reports as per set indicators and targets of project to Program Manager in Peshawar.
  • Collaborate with the Finance/Admin and Logistics to ensure that project supplies and resources are available in a timely manner to support project implementation.
  • Provide support and guidance to other SIF staff to assist in their capacity-building activities.
  • Regularly report to the FC and program manager on all activities, weekly, bi-monthly & monthly with progress, achievements, bottlenecks to document challenges and lesson learned.
  • Coordinate with WFP on all projects related activities and devise joint strategies for project implementation.
  • Manage directly the team under his responsibility
  • Recruit the staff under his responsibility and evaluate them
  • Anticipate and plan human resources requirements
  •  Organize and solve team conflicts and ensure good working conditions

Reporting:

  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports according to the schedule defined by the Field Coordinator / Program Manager

Competencies:

  • Ideally experience in the field of CBI/FFA.
  • English fluent with excellent writing capacities (local language Pashto are advantages)
  • Strong capacity of analyze
  • Good communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Computer proficient         
  • Education (Master or sixteen years of education)

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position directs supervise the entire project team. Reporting Officer, database management team, Admin & finance officer, Logistics Officer will be under his direct supervision.

This is a full-time position. Working hours are 40 per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
