The first bank to open in Pakistan was Allied Bank Limited. Before Pakistan got its freedom in 1942, it was first called Australasia Bank in Lahore. In 1974, it changed its name to Allied Bank of Pakistan Limited, and in 2005, it changed its name again to Allied Bank Limited. Because of capital rebuilding, the Bank's ownership was given to a group made up of Ibrahim Leasing Limited and Ibrahim Group in August 2004. Since it has been around for more than 60 years, the Bank has built a strong base of stock, assets, and deposits. It provides all kinds of banking services, but private banking is where it really shines. The Bank also has the largest network of online branches in Pakistan, with over 700 of them. Its wide range of customers can choose from a wide range of technology-based goods and services.
