JOB PURPOSE:

The purpose of this job is to support evidence-based decision-making by collecting, analyzing, and visualizing data from various sources, ensuring data quality, and communicating insights through infographics and dashboards. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders to set KPIs, providing training on data use, and evaluating visualization strategies to improve information delivery to program managers and decision-makers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Collect, clean, and analyze data from various sources, including health facilities, surveys, and other relevant sources, to support evidence-based decision-making in the district.
2. Develop and implement data visualization strategies, including infographics, dashboards, and other data visualization tools, to communicate key information and insights to stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
3. Collaborate with program managers and other stakeholders to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop data dashboards and reports that provide regular updates on progress toward program objectives and targets.
4. Conduct training and capacity-building sessions for program staff and other stakeholders on data analysis, visualization, and use for decision-making.
5. Ensure data quality and accuracy by implementing quality control measures, conducting regular data audits, and providing technical assistance to health facilities and other data sources as needed.
6. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of data visualization strategies and recommend adjustments as necessary to ensure successful communication of key information and insights.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION: 

• Master's degree in data science, statistics, public health, or a related field, with a focus on data analysis and visualization.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

1. Experience working with health data and developing data visualization tools, such as infographics and dashboards.
2. Proficiency in data visualization software, such as Tableau, Power BI, or other similar tools.
3. Knowledge of statistical analysis software, such as R or Stata, is an advantage.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders and communicate complex information in a clear and actionable manner.
• Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to collect, clean, and analyze complex data from multiple sources.
• Strong data visualization skills, including experience developing infographics, dashboards, and other data visualization tools using software such as Tableau, Power BI, or other similar tools.
• Knowledge of data analysis and visualization best practices, as well as experience working with public health data.
• Ability to communicate complex information and insights in a clear and actionable manner to a variety of stakeholders, including program managers, health workers, and policymakers.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and time-management skills that facilitate effective data analysis and visualization.

KPIs:

• Increased use of data for decision-making among program managers and other stakeholders, as demonstrated by increased engagement with data dashboards and reports.
• Positive feedback from program managers and other stakeholders regarding the usefulness and clarity of data visualization tools, including infographics and dashboards.
• Successful completion of data analysis and visualization projects that effectively communicate key information and insights to stakeholders.
• Achievement of program objectives related to data analysis and visualization that align with the overarching goal of evidence-based decision-making in the district.
