Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join our department. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze large datasets, develop predictive models, and create actionable insights to improve tax compliance, fraud detection, revenue forecasting, and policy decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science, machine learning, and statistical analysis, with a keen interest in applying these skills to the taxation domain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze large, complex datasets related to taxation, including income, sales, property, and corporate tax data.
- Develop and implement machine learning models to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in tax-related data.
- Build predictive models for tax revenue forecasting, fraud detection, and compliance risk assessment.
- Collaborate with software engineers to integrate data science solutions into our taxation software products.
- Design and maintain data pipelines to ensure efficient data collection, cleaning, and processing.
- Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders through clear visualizations, reports, and presentations.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and taxation regulations.
- Work closely with the product team to identify opportunities for data-driven features and improvements.
- Ensure data privacy and security standards are maintained in compliance with relevant regulations.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or a related field.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
- Strong experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Solid understanding of statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and data mining techniques.
- Experience working with large datasets and distributed computing tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
- Knowledge of taxation systems, policies, and regulations is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the taxation or financial services industry.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of natural language processing (NLP) and text analytics.
- Experience with time-series analysis and forecasting techniques.
